GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport tennis team's concluded their regular season on Wednesday afternoon as they hosted WHAC foe, Indiana Tech on senior day. The men's team was able to take their match, 7-2, and the women swept Indiana Tech, 9-0. Davenport will now wait to see who they face in the opening round of the WHAC Tournament.
 
In the women's match, the Panthers got off to a strong start as Alyssa Fuentes and Puck Luttikhuis took the first doubles match, 8-1, while Montserrat Elizondo and Bridgett Barrett took doubles two, 8-6. Emily Spiech and Marcie Kooyers wrapped up doubles play with an 8-1, to take a 3-0 lead. The Lady Panthers continued to roll in singles as they did not drop a single set throughout singles and only dropped four game through the first three matches en route to a 9-0 win over Indiana Tech.
 
On the men's side, Indiana Tech took the first doubles match as they won doubles No. 3, 8-1, but the Davenport came back to win the next two matches to take a 2-1 lead heading into singles. The Warriors took the first singles match, 6-2, 6-4, but the Panthers took control of the match winning the final five singles matches, four of which came in straight sets. Davenport beat Indiana Tech, 7-2, to take sole possession of third place in the WHAC heading into the postseason.
 
Both the men and women's team will wait to see who they will face in the opening round of the WHAC tournament.
