Lakers Beat Panthers 7-2

DU now 2-3 overall on the season

GRANDVILLE, Mich. - The men's tennis team played for the third time indoors this winter at Premier Athletic Club on Friday night against Grand Valley State. The Panthers fell 7-2 to the Lakers and are now 2-3 overall this season.

Matthew McClurg had one of the team's points at one singles for DU. He battled Alex Vande Steenoven to one set apiece and then Vande Steenoven retired in the third set to give the Panthers a point. Matthew Boyle took Jack Heiniger to three sets at three singles winning the second set at love. Heiniger won 7-6 in the third and final set.

Michael Digby and Boyle teamed up at two doubles for a 9-8 win for Heiniger and Nicholas Urban for the team's other point. The other two doubles matches were very competitive falling 8-6 at one doubles and 9-7 at three doubles.
