SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - The Davenport men's tennis program picked up an 8-1 win over Spring Arbor on Tuesday to improve to 8-9 overall. The team snapped a brief two-match losing skid and are now 2-1 on the road this season.
Kevin Slagh and
Haja Denise got a point at one doubles over Nick Romano and Jesse DeBoer, 9-7. JP van Antwerpen and
Michael Digby defeated Vincent McShane and Tony Mayotte, 8-2, at two doubles.
Matthew Boyle and
Devan Lockington also won 8-3 at three doubles over Jacob Byrd and Thomas Hall. Those two teamed up for the first time this season in doubles.
van Antwerpen had a three-set win at one singles defeating Romano (4-6, 6-2, 6-2) in his first match in the one-slot. Denise, Boyle, Digby and Slagh each had straight sets victories in singles.
