RICHMOND, Ky. - The Davenport men's golf team captured the Alice Lloyd Invitational at Battlefield Golf Club on Tuesday by a whopping 22 strokes over Oakland City. The Panthers fired a 311 in the opening round to lead by 10 strokes and then blazed a 306 in the final round to stretch their lead.
Jorge Benitez won medalist honors by two strokes over Taylor Suggs from Cincinnati Christian with a one-over total of 145.
Mitchell Garrison finished fourth with a two-round total of 155 (+11).
Mitchell Wandell finished one stroke behind Garrison in fifth place and shot 77 in today's round.Â
Josh Switzer entered the tournament as an individual not counting towards the team total and if he had it would have been a bigger margin of victory. He was tied for seventh with a 14-over par 158.
Michael Cooper tied for 15th with a total of 161.
Austin Sereno tied for 24th moving up nine spots from the first round and shot 80 in the final round.
