GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport baseball team needed to turn around and quickly play in an elimination game on Monday afternoon to stay alive in the WHAC Tournament. The Panthers rebounded from a loss earlier in the day with an 11-2 win at Cornerstone to play another day. After a one-run loss to Concordia, the bats really erupted for 12 hits against Cornerstone ace Ben Sheckler. DU got off to a 2-0 start in the top of the first and never trailed in the contest against the Golden Eagles who finished their season at 19-33.
Brandon Cable had a two-RBI single through the left side in the first which plated 
Zac Wilson and 
Travis Bolin. CU scored once in the third on a wild pitch and again in the fifth but DU starter 
Brandon White tossed a complete-game gem allowing just six hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts. He improved to 5-1 this season and lowered his season ERA to 1.98. It was also his first complete game of the season.
Sheckler lasted seven innings and allowed nine hits and seven earned runs while walking six. DU led 4-2 after six innings and then put it out of reach with three runs in the seventh and four more in the eighth. 
Brandon Larkin-Guilfoyle had a RBI single, Cable had a RBI walk and 
Austin Brandt scored on a wild pitch in the seventh. Wilson had a RBI single, 
Matt Priebe had a sacrifice fly, Larkin-Guilfoyle had a RBI groundout and Cable had a RBI single in the eighth.
Wilson went 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI in the two-spot. Bolin went 2-for-3 with three runs and his 18th double of the season. Cable finished 3-for-4 with four RBI and a walk. The Panthers worked seven walks in the contest.
