Davenport drops two games on the road to Lindenwood University-Belleville

BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Davenport played back to back away games at Lindenwood University-Belleville and were unable to get a win against the Lynx. The Panthers were outscored 3-11 over the two games and look to take those experiences and create a different outcome next week against the University of Toledo. Davenport got goals from Kyle McConnell, Trevor Murray and Chris Pakalnins.
 
Game 1 (Friday, October 13th)
Final Score: Davenport 1, Lindenwood University-Belleville 5

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Davenport got down early in the game, giving up two goals to the Lynx during the opening 10 minutes of play. The Panthers couldn't find an answer during the period and went into the second period down two goals.
-Again the Lynx scored two goals in the period to increase their lead to four. Davenport went 15 minutes without giving up a goal during the second period.
-After the Lynx scored in the 13th minute of the final period they led 5-0. The Panthers netted their first goal of the game in the 57th minute to cut the lead to four goals. McConnell scored the goal and was assisted by Connor Seymour and Marc Rotondo.
-McConnell scored the loan DU goal.
-Seymour and Rotondo each had an assist.
-Devin Rosema got the start in net and had 37 saves on 42 shots during 60 minutes of play.

Game 2 (Saturday, October 14th)
Final Score: Davenport 2, Lindenwood University-Belleville 6

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The first period of this game belonged to the Lynx, as they scored five unanswered goals. Davenport didn't have an answer and went into the second period down by five goals.
-Davenport won the second period, scoring two goals and only giving up one to the Lynx. Pakalnins got DU on the board first in the third minute of the game and Murray got one to go in the 12th minute.
-Neither team scored in the final period and the big first period by the Lynx stood to be the difference.
-Murrary and Pakalnins each scored one goal.
-Tallying one assist each was Tyler Jaenicke and Kyle Mazur.
-Rosema again got the start in net and recorded 39 saves on 45 shots over the entirety of the game.
 
UP NEXT
Davenport will skate on their home ice for the first time this season next weekend against the University of Toledo. The game will be at 8:20 pm on Friday, October 20.
