BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Davenport snapped their losing streak after beating up on the Hoosiers in game one of their mini series. The Panthers beat Indiana on their home ice 5-1 during the first game and recorded 63 shots on goal over the three periods. The Hoosiers came back and defended their home ice in the second game, winning 4-2 to split the mini series. Davenport recorded nearly twice as many shots as Indiana in the second game, but couldn't convert on enough to win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Panthers dominated the first period, scoring both goals to take a 2-0 lead.
Marc Rotondo scored the initial goal for Davenport of the game during minute 17.
Jordan Luciw snuck the second goal of the period for DU in with just 18 seconds left on the game clock, he was assisted by
Evan Carroll and
Chris McRae.
-Indiana scored their only goal of the game in the second period, but the Panthers scored two more as well to increase their lead. Carroll scored first in the period, giving Davenport a three goal lead. Indiana scored during the 10
th minute on a power play goal. Murray responded with a goal of his own and DU led 4-1 after two periods.
-The third period was all Davenport as Luciw netted his second goal of the game.
Devin Rosema shut out the Hoosiers during the final period to help DU hold on to their lead.
-Luciw scored two goals to lead DU.
-Nick Sargent, McRae and Game all had two assists during the game.
-Rosema stopped 29 of the 30 shots sent his way.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Indiana had a high scoring first period, scoring three unanswered goals. Davenport had one power play opportunity during the period, but couldn't convert.
-Luciw tried initiating a comeback with an early goal in the second period on an even strength effort. He was assisted by McRae and Carroll on the play. The comeback was cut short when Indiana scored a goal of their own in their period to take a 4-1 lead.
-Davenport had a solid final period, scoring the only goal and getting within two goals of the Hoosiers. Time was not on the Panthers side as the clock ran out before DU could score more goals.
-Luciw and Murray each had one goal.
-Four different players all had one assist, McRae, Carroll, Rotondo and
Kyle McConnell.
-Again Rosema played the whole game in net and recorded 22 saves.
UP NEXT
Davenport plays another road series next weekend against Lindenwood. Saturday's game will be at 7 pm and Sunday's game will start at 1 pm.
