FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Panthers took a trip down to Florida to compete against top ranked Florida Gulf Coast and fell twice against the Eagles. Florida Gulf Coast had significantly more scoring opportunities than the Panthers; the Eagles had a combined 110 shots on goal over the two games compared to Davenport's 73.

HOW IT HAPPENED-The Eagles scored very early in the game and never looked back. Jordan Klotz of Florida Gulf Coast scored just 48 seconds into the game. Florida Gulf Coast scored another goal five minutes later to take a 2-0 lead into the second period.
-Davenport had a power play opportunity to start the second period as the Eagles received a two-minute delay of game bench minor, however the Panthers couldn't convert. Florida Gulf Coast scored three goals in the period to take a five-goal lead after two periods.

Tyler Buchanan and
Devin Rosema faced a tough challenge in the net as Buchanan faced 36 shots in 31 minutes and Rosema faced 22 shots in 29 minutes.
-Their goaltender saved all 32 shots from the Panthers.

HOW IT HAPPENED-The Panthers came out in the second game ready to play as
Trevor Murray scored the first goal of the game and gave Davenport a 1-0 lead during the first period. Florida Gulf Coast responded with three late goals in the period to take a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes of play.
-Davenport played solid defense for the majority of the second period. However, the Eagles squeaked in a goal with only one second remaining to take a three-goal lead.
-The Panthers were un-able to score again after their early first period goal.
-Murray scored the only goal.
-Alexander Stewart notched the only assist.
-Buchanan played all 60 minutes in net and tallied 46 saves.
UP NEXTDavenport is facing Michigan State University this weekend in a two game mini-series. The Panthers only have four regular season games remaining on their schedule.
