MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – The Panthers won the doubles battle by winning two of the three matches, but were swept in all six singles matches.
The combo of
Michael Digby and
Haja Denise snagged a win by a score of 8-5 in the first doubles match. Cardinal Stritch evened up the score 1-1 after winning the next doubles match against
Matthew McClurg and
Matthew Boyle. The Panthers took the 2-1 lead after
Sam Rogerson and
Juan-Philip van Antwerpen got the win in the last doubles match.
Davenport was un-able to sustain the lead during the singles portion of the match as Cardinal Stritch won all six. Antwerpen put up the biggest fight as his comeback against his opponent fell short in the third set. Scores were 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in favor of Cardinal Stritch.
The Panthers host future GLIAC opponent Ferris State on Friday at 7:00 p.m. for their next match.
