EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Division II men's hockey team faced off with the Division III Michigan State Spartans at Suburban Ice in their only action this weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Davenport strikes first in this one at 12:55 as Trevor Murray scored with assists to Majewski and Carroll. A few minutes later, Carroll and Murray set up Davenport's Connor Seymour and extended their lead to 2-0. The Spartans cut the lead to 2-1 just 16 seconds later as Joseph Zelenka scored on the power play.
-MSU came out in the hot in the second, scoring three unanswered goals within five minutes. Zelenka scored at 2:26 and 4:30 to complete his first hat trick of the season. His third goal was on the power play.
-DU was trailing 4-2 when Carroll scored from Majewski and Uzzell at the 18:55 mark to close the gap to 4-3 after two periods.
-The third period was all MSU as they recorded three more goals. MSU led 5-3 when Carroll recorded his second of the night from Marc Rotondo. The Spartans sealed it with the final two goals at 12:06 and 18:23. DU finished 1-for-6 on the power play while MSU went 3-for-6.
