GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport enjoyed their second straight GLIAC victory today after defeating Tiffin 7-2. The Panthers handled the Dragons with ease and currently sit tied for first in the conference with Northwood and Ferris State. Davenport led 2-1 after the doubles competitions finished and then won five out of six matches in singles to run away with the match.

Doubles Competition
The Dragons scored the first point of the match by winning in third doubles.
Remy Johansen and
Max Hartman fell to Toby Cutting and Tom Arias 8-3 in that match. The Panthers took the lead after they won in first and second doubles.
Marc Lerch and
Juan-Louis van Antwerpen won 9-7 in first doubles, while
Matthew McClurg and
Jonathan Bulmer won 8-6 in second doubles. Davenport took a 2-1 lead heading into singles.
Singles Competition
The Panthers continued to build their lead as each singles match came to an end. Bulmer finished first in singles, winning 6-3 and 6-2 in fourth singles. In the first singles slot Lerch took a 7-6 (7-4) and 6-4 decision over Luis Ludena to give DU a 4-1 lead. The match-winning point was earned by Antwerpen, who won 3-6, 6-4, and 6-2 in second singles to give DU their fifth point. McClurg and
Michael Digby scored the final two points for the Panthers. McClurg won 6-4, 3-6, and 7-6 (7-5) in third singles. Digby won 6-4 and 6-1 in sixth singles, where he is 6-2 on the season.
