GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Panthers played their 21st and final regular season match of the 2017-18 year. Davenport defeated former conference opponent Cornerstone University 7-2 at the Grand Rapids Racquet and Fitness. Coming into the match the Panthers held a 7-5 record in non-conference matches. With the win Davenport carries some momentum heading into the GLIAC Tournament this weekend.

Doubles Competition
Parker Keas saw action tonight for only the second time this season. Keas teamed up with
Matthew McClurg in third doubles and lost a hard fought match 8-6. The duos of
Marc Lerch/
Juan-Louis van Antwerpen and
Max Hartman/
Remy Johansen each won 8-4 in their doubles matches.
Singles Competition
Davenport won five of the six singles matches. Lerch won in first singles 6-2 and 6-4, while Johansen had the quickest match in fourth singles. Johansen won 6-1 in both sets, finishing before every other singles match. Keas competed in the sixth singles spot, he lost 6-1 and 6-2. McClurg won 6-4 in both sets, and van Antwerpen won 6-2 and 6-3. Lastly, Hartman won 6-3 and 6-2 in fifth singles.

The Panthers compete in the first round of the GLIAC Tournament on Friday, April 20 against Grand Valley State University. All of the matches in the GLIAC Tournament are being held at the Greater Midland Community Tennis Center in Midland, Mich.
