ALLENDALE, Mich. – Davenport played their first of three road matches on Wednesday and fell to the Lakers of Grand Valley State 5-4. The Panthers were one point away from opening GLIAC play a perfect 4-0, but were unable to get the game-winning point on the road. Davenport drops to 3-1 in GLIAC play for the moment and looks to win their next two road matches.

Doubles Competition
The Lakers won two out of the three doubles matches.
Juan-Louis van Antwerpen and
Marc Lerch teamed up for the lone DU point in doubles. The two won 9-8 (5-0) in first doubles.
Jonathan Bulmer and
Matthew McClurg fell 8-5 in second doubles, while
Remy Johansen and
Max Hartman lost 8-2 in third doubles.
Singles Competition
The Panthers split the singles matches 3-3, but needed one more match to go their way to earn the team win. McClurg, Bulmer, and Johansen all got the victories in their singles matches. McClurg won 6-4, 2-6, and 10-6 in third singles, and Bulmer won 6-2, 5-7, and 6-1 in the fourth singles slot. In the fifth singles spot Johansen picked up the quick 6-4 and 6-1 win. Lerch fell 6-2 and 6-4 in first singles, while Antwerpen lost 1-6, 6-2, and 6-1 in second singles.
Michael Digby fought a close battle in sixth singles, falling 6-2, and 7-6 (6-0).
