ANGOLA, Ind. – After taking down Aurora for the first time on Saturday, the Panthers looked to come out the GMHL Showcase with a winning record. Their opponents were the weekend's host, the Thunder of Trine University. Trine won three of the four meetings last season, including ending the Panthers' season by defeating them in the second round of regionals.
Davenport's power play was on point. Three of their four goals scored came on the man-advantage, two of which coming from defensemen. Along with a goal from the returning
Connor Seymour and
Robert Pegrum's exceptional play, the Panthers were able to beat Thunder, taking two of three games on the weekend.

FEELING THE POWER

Into the second period, the Thunder continued to find themselves in penalty trouble, giving DU a 5-on-3 just over a minute into the period.
Cole Uzzell scored his second power play goal of the season, followed by
Brody White burying his second in as many games to give the Panthers a three-goal lead early in the frame.
Kyle Callahan scored to put Trine on the board late in the second period, but Seymour's goals in the third period kept the Thunder at bay, as the Panthers would pick up their third win of the season by a final score of 4-1.
Head Coach
Chris Green was very impressed with his team winning two of the three games this weekend.
"Our staff is proud to be working with this group of fine gentlemen," Green stated after the win. " We went 2-1 against top competition and these guys get better each game we play.
Green was sure to also mention how good the Panthers have been at being to make adjustments throughout the games, which has been one of the reasons DU has been successful so far this season.
