Panthers earn split with Wolverines in final regular season series

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Friday night was a special moment during pregame as Tyler Jaenicke met the family of Nick Britton who donated his heart to Tyler. The ceremonial puck drop was emotional was Bennett Trela the godson of Nick was on the ice along with the rest of the family.
-The Panthers and Wolverines played a tight defensive battle. DU started the first with a bang as Kyle Mazur and Jaenicke set up Connor Seymour, to take the early 1-0 lead over the Wolverines at 2:13. Michigan tied the game at 18:53 on a goal by Jack Blumberg.
-The Wolverines continued their momentum into the second as they recorded another just 1:37 into the frame by Steven Merl.
-Neither team could not score again but Davenport did have a quality chance at the end of the game as Evan Carroll had an open net with under a minute left. Drake Deering made 21 saves in net for the Panthers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Panthers came back on Saturday on Senior Night and pitched the shutout against the Wolverines.
-Fast forward with a little over a minute left in the first and Evan Carroll gives the Panthers the 1-0 lead assisted by Adam Hulsey.
-The Panthers had a lot of good scoring opportunities in the second. 15:28 into the period and the Panthers add another and make the score 2-0. Jacob Demeter recorded the goal with assists from Trevor Murray and Jessee Game. 
-For the second straight night, neither team could score a goal in the third period. DU's Deering had the shutout in net with 21 saves.

UP NEXT
-The Panthers will await their selection in the ACHA Division II Central Regionals. The regional is March 1-3 in Minneapolis, Minnesota at Schwan Super Rink.
