Davenport was on the road to open their 2019 GLIAC schedule and fell to Wayne State and Ashland. The Warriors of Wayne State were a tough opponent for Davenport on Saturday as the Panthers lost by a score of 7-0. Davenport played better on Sunday against Ashland, but eventually lost by one point.

Doubles Competition
 
Singles Competition
	- Vargas, Johansen, McClurg, van Antwerpen, and Digby all lost in two sets.
 
	- Digby and van Antwerpen each had a set that needed a tiebreaker to determine a winner; unfortunately, they both lost their respective tiebreakers.
 
	- Bulmer was the lone Panther to win a set in singles. He took a 6-4 victory in set one, but lost in set two and 10-5 in set three.
 
 
Match 2 (Sunday): Davenport-3 | Ashland-4
 
Doubles Competition
	- The doubles matches proved to be the tipping point for Ashland in the match.
 
	- The Eagles won two out of the three doubles matches, earning the one available point.
 
	- The duo of Johansen and van Antwerpen won 6-1 in three doubles.
 
	- McClurg/Bulmer and Vargas/Digby each lost in their doubles matches.
 
 
Singles Competition
	- Davenport split 3-3 in the six singles matches.
 
	- McClurg, van Antwerpen, and Bulmer all won their matches.
 
	- McClurg won 6-1 and 6-2 in three singles, van Antwerpen won 6-3 and 7-6 in four singles, and Bulmer won 6-4 and 6-2 in five singles.
 
	- Johansen fell in three sets to his opponent in two singles.
 
 
Up Next
Davenport continues their GLIAC schedule with a match at Purdue Northwest this Sunday (March 31). The time for the match has not yet been determined.
