HOOVER, Ala. - The Davenport baseball team won the weekend series against Southern Indiana with a 14-4 win on Saturday at Hoover Met Complex. Under sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 50's, the Panthers took a 5-4 lead through four innings and then scored the game's final nine runs to post the big victory.

The last four runs in the inning were scored with two outs. Nolan Bryant and Jacob Buchberger each had a RBI with the bases loaded. Bryant was hit by a pitch and Buchberger walked.

The Screaming Eagles did not go away and scored four times in the bottom of the inning. Austin Moody had a big hit with a two-run scoring single up the middle against Max Swan. Swan replaced Djuraskovic on the mound who finished with 3.2 innings and allowed six hits and four runs.

Swan then really settled in and pitched three straight scoreless innings to get the win. He tossed 3.1 innings and allowed two hits with no walks and five strikeouts. The game changing hit came in the sixth inning off the bat of Buchberger. DU led 6-4 and the senior took a 3-0 pitch and crushed it to left field for an 8-4 advantage.
