GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -
The stage is set for what should be a battle on Sunday as the two-seed Panthers will take on top-seed Parkside (No. 20 nationally) in the championship of the GLIAC Tournament. The two programs shared the regular season title and the winner of this one will get an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. eastern time at Pritchard Park in Racine, Wis.

Parkside got here after a 3-2 win over Purdue Northwest in the first semifinal on Friday. The Rangers won for the seventh straight time and got goals by Dejan Rokvic (4th minute), Rade Novakovich (42nd minute), and Max Ludwig (50th minute). The key to a potential victory for the Panthers will be to neutralize Novakovich who won GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year and is an All-American candidate. He currently leads Division II with 22 goals and 53 points. Ludwig has been a nice compliment to Novakovich with eight goals and a team-best 12 assists.

Davenport advanced to the finals after a 1-0 win over Saginaw Valley State in the second semifinal on Friday. The Panthers avenged a loss and tie during the regular season and played a solid match with 20 shots including seven on goal. O'Riordan scored his fifth goal of the season in the 49th minute assisted by Matt Whelan.

These teams split a pair of matches during the regular season with each winning on the road. DU battled back from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 in overtime in Kenosha, Wis. on Sept. 24. Daire O'Riordan (32nd minute) got DU back into it and the rally ended with a Justice Sikkema goal in the 89th minute to force overtime and a brilliant free kick by Matt Whelan in the 92nd minute for the win.

Parkside played a textbook match and converted their chances in a 3-0 win in Caledonia, Mich. on Oct. 24. Davenport outshot the Rangers, 17-10, and each team had five shots on goal. Ludwig (14th minute) got the Rangers on the board and the match tilted when just 12 seconds later Matteo Quintero scored to shock the Panthers. Novakovich finished the scoring in the 68th minute.
