Fresh off an 11-8 win at Tiffin in the 2021 season opener, the Davenport University women's lacrosse team will head back to Ohio for another non-conference battle, this time with Findlay on Friday at 4 p.m. The Oilers enter with a record of 0-2, but both losses came against ranked opponents including No. 4 Indianapolis on the road (22-3) and No. 11 Grand Valley State at home (18-4).
In that 11-8 victory against the Dragons on Sunday,
Ryann Deuel and
Anna Glynn were each responsible for three goals while
Reilly Noble assisted on three scores,
Aaliyah Miller notched a pair of helpers and Glynn had an assist of her own. Also scoring for Davenport was Miller (2),
Brenna Knoll (2) and newcomer,
Maddy Haynes (1). Defensively, Glynn caused a pair of turnovers while Deuel, Haynes and
Amber Park caused one apiece. In goal, another newcomer,
Grace DeRidder, saved three shot attempts.
For the Oilers, their team leaders include Ciara Burud (4 goals, 1 assist, 5 ground balls, 5 draw controls, and 4 caused turnovers), Kendra Lindell (1 assist), Liz Zatalava (1 assist), and Allie Kasprzyk (1 free-position goal). In goal, Rachel Bornstein has made 24 saves.
