NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Despite dropping the first match of the day to Mercyhurst in four sets, the Davenport University women's volleyball team bounced back nicely to take down Daemen in a five-set thriller. The split puts the Panthers at 3-3 on the young season as they'll face Notre Dame (Ohio) and the host school, Walsh, on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.

- In that set, the Panthers scored six of the first eight points and the final nine straight after it was tied 16-16.
- Outside of that period, Mercyhurst hit at least .146 in the other three sets including .268 in the third.
- The Panthers' hitting percentage increased as the match progressed including, in order, .130, .143, .205, and .257.
- Kreiger registered more than 15 kills while hitting at least .200 for the third time in five matches.
- Herr continued the hot start to her season with nine kills and a red-hot .389 hitting percentage.
- That effort made it three in five matches in which she hit at least .300.
- Webb did it all above the net with eight kills and six blocks.
- Hayes and Odeen were neck and neck in the assist department with 22 and 19, respectively.
- Corstange and Rudnitsky (first time this season) reached the 10-dig plateau with 24 and 13, respectively.

Brian Netzler.
- The Panthers hit a season-high .240 (52-15-154) with individual set clips of .219, .286, .195, .241, and .292.
- DU also handled business on the defensive end with a season-best nine blocks and 75 digs, the team's second-best total in that department.
- Three different Panthers (Groves, Kreiger and Webb) sent home 10 or more kills for the first time this season.
- Just outside that top three were stellar performances from Herr (.421 hitting percentage) and Turnquist (.500 hitting percentage) with nine kills apiece.
- Turnquist, in just the third match of her career, didn't play like it with that .500 clip on 16 swings.
- Kreiger notched her first double-double of the season with those 10 kills to go with 13 digs.
- Odeen also scored the double-double with a team-best 31 assists and 11 digs.
- Webb blocked five more attack attempts and Corstange paced the Panthers in digs with 25, one off her career best set a week ago.
