GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University swimming and diving teams were at the Venema Aquatic Center on Friday night to compete in the final road meet of the 2021-22 regular season. The men fell to Calvin (No. 14 DIII) by a score of 156-81 while the women were defeated by the Knights (No. 24 DIII), 134-108, and Hillsdale, 125-109. Next up for the Panthers is Senior Day on Saturday against Grand Valley State and Saginaw Valley State with the action set to begin at 3 p.m.

The men were responsible for 13 top-three finishes, including three wins, while the women were among the top three on 15 occasions, which included five victories.

"Tonight was a great night of racing!," said assistant coach, Alec Kandt. "It was our first meet this semester and the team raced extremely hard! Some people got the chance to swim some different races and we had a bunch of season bests and even some lifetime bests as a result! We are in a great spot heading into GLIAC's."

"This weekend is great prep for conference with two big meets in a row," said head diving coach, Areal Tolsma. "Today, we put in big lists with some new dives and our divers came out confident and consistent. Lexis (Mirandette) and Emily (Bolt) both ended with season bests on 3 meters. I'm very proud of how they've shown up to practice and meets this year. Tonight is a glimpse of the great things they can achieve in a couple weeks."
