GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Raising money for the
Be Better Wellness Center out of Holland, Davenport, Calvin, Hope, and Michigan participated in the Knights' Be Better Invitational on Saturday at the Venema Aquatic Center. There were no team scores kept with unique races staged for a great cause. Next up on the schedule for DU is a home quad meet with Hope, Kalamazoo and DePauw on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 4-5 in Kentwood.
"It was a fun meet today for a great cause," said head coach,
Justin Vasquez. "The swim meet had a lot of unique races and our kids really had good time today."
The Be Better Wellness Center was started by Steve and Jill Miskelley, parents of Ian Miskelley (passed away in September of 2020), to raise money for the support of mental health awareness. Ian, a Holland native, was a swimmer at the University of Michigan. Saturday at Calvin, Each team had multiple swimmers who were teammates of Miskelley, either in high school, college or his swimming club, Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics.
