ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The men's lacrosse team mounted a fourth-quarter comeback on Tuesday at Flagler denying the Saints their first win of the season (0-5). DU improved to 2-1 but needed to score the last four goals of the game to pull it out.
Davenport trailed 11-8 early in the fourth quarter after a Geraint Shaw goal from Willy Bateman. The Panthers were aided by several penalties by the Saints which allowed them to make the comeback.
Jordan Caskenette scored at 10:47 from
Kaden Seelye with a man-up tally.
James Johnston scored at 8:41 unassisted to get within a goal at 11-10. Caskenette tied it up with another man-up goal at 5:03 from
Keelan McKouen. Caskenette finished the scoring at 2:58 with a third man-up goal in the quarter from Johnston.
Daniel Milano preserved the win by making three saves in the last 1:52 of the contest.
Flagler finished with 39 shots including 24 on goal. Davenport had 29 shots including 23 on goal. Milano ended with five groundballs, two caused turnovers, and 13 saves.
Lucas Renzetti won 10 face-offs.
Dylan Day finished with two goals and one assist. Caskenette and Johnston each had five points with four goals and one assist.
Austin Thompson and
Trent Eichbauer also scored a goal for Davenport.
