Box Score INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The men's tennis team competed at the ITA Midwest Regional and the biggest news was
Joel Mast making an appearance in the Flight B Singles Final. He battled his way through six total matches, ending victorious against Ilyes Khefifi of Southwest Baptist (6-1, 6-0), Matt Telford of Tiffin (6-4, Retired), Victor Cortes Flores of Rockhurst (2-6, 7-5, 10-8), Blas Ruiz of Walsh (6-4, 6-1), and Atte Ehrnrooth of UIndy (6-0, 4-6, 10-3), before falling to Alexander Stage of Wayne State (3-6, 5-7).
Also making it into the Flight B Singles quarters was
Daniel Cardy, winning matches against Tatenda Mutetwa of Lewis (6-4, 7-6, 7-5), Xavier Vincent Navarro of LSSU (4-6, 6-2, 10-3), and Alex Medina of Walsh (6-3, 6-2). He fell to Atte Ehrnrooth of UIndy in the quarters with scores of 6-4 and 7-5.
Jan Stolin did some damage in the Flight A Singles matches as well after falling in his first match against Semyon Tsyrenov of Rockhurst (6-2, 2-6, 15-13). He went on to defeat Nikolaj Talimaa of UIndy (injury walkover) and Nikolai Gonzalez of Michigan Tech (7-5, 6-3), before falling in his last match to Max Wild of Northwood (6-2, 2-6, 10-6). In the C Singles matches,
Marius Pion,
Jackson Graham,
Jose Brenes, and
Carlos Henriquez all notched one win apiece.
Then in the Flight B Doubles,
Subash Paramasivam and Mast teamed up for the Panthers best doubles showing. The duo won their first two matches against Martin Matov and Patricio Sepulveda of Grand Valley State (8-5), as well as Tyler Conrad and Aidan Pack of Hillsdale (8-3), before dropping their third match to McKendree's duo of David Leon and Jose Antonio Velasco (8-6).
