Box Score CALEDONIA, Mich. - The men's tennis team enjoyed their home courts at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex on a gorgeous fall evening with a 5-2 win over Cornerstone. It was the first dual match of the season for Davenport after two tournaments to begin the 2022-23 campaign.
The Panthers had little trouble in doubles posting three wins.
Jan Stolin and
Daniel Cardy formed a strong bond with a 6-3 win at one doubles over Santiago Castellanos and Luis Azurduy. Moving on to the two doubles spot, it was
Simone Pacciolla and
Jackson Graham teaming up for a 6-2 win over Andres Jimenez and John Cocoma. At the third doubles position,
Daniil Khitrou and
Subash Paramasivam defeated Jose Oliva and Jadon Bender by a 6-4 score.
Stolin at one singles notched a 6-4, 6-3 win over Jimenez. Cardy had a tough match at two singles against Castellanos. He dropped the first set 7-5 before rallying for a 7-6, 6-4 finish. Paramasivam at three singles also went the distance against Daniel Alfaro. He won the first set 6-4, lost the second set 7-5, and finished with a strong 6-1 third set.
Jose Brenes also picked up a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at six singles over Alejandro Santana.
