GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport men's wrestling team conducted their first home dual of the season on Monday night and it was a tall task. The Panthers welcomed No. 4 Indianapolis for just their second dual of the season and first one in the GLVC. The previous dual was back on Nov. 16 at Rochester (Mich.).
The Greyhounds (6-2) took the dual with a 51-3 score over the Panthers. Davenport was forced to forfeit 18 points not having a wrestler at 125, 184, and 285.
Manuel Leija was able to get the three points for DU at 133. He took a 10-4 decision over Nick Varanelli.
Cole Fournier also put up a fight at 157 as he took Zach Haughton to the end before falling in a 7-6 decision. The other Indianapolis winning bouts resulted in falls in five matchups.
