FINDLAY, Ohio – Davenport competed at the NCAA Division II Super Regional #3 on Saturday, finishing 10th as a team with 9.5 points against some of the top competition in the region. The Panthers battled throughout the day in a high-stakes postseason environment, earning key wins and valuable bonus points on the regional stage.
At 174 pounds, Cody Ueberroth delivered one of the highlights of the tournament, opening with a fall in 0:59 over Mat McNeil (Davis & Elkins). He added another pin in the consolation bracket, showcasing his ability to score quick points in crucial moments. At 184, Ethan Ramsey secured a first-round fall over Landon Marquis (Bluefield State) in 1:21 and later added a major decision in wrestlebacks to contribute to the team score.Shawn McGuire (133) earned a major decision in consolations, while Buddy Leonard (149) picked up a decision victory in the backside bracket. Andrew Dupree (285) advanced to the quarterfinals after receiving a bye, competing in a deep heavyweight field.
Despite drawing nationally ranked opponents from programs including Ashland, Tiffin and Glenville State, the Panthers showed resilience throughout the bracket. Davenport now turns its attention to the NCAA Division II National Championships, set for March 13-14, where the Panthers will look to build on their regional performance and continue representing the program on the national stage.
