Panthers compete at the GVSU Mike Lints Open

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Panthers traveled to the Grand Valley State Mike Lints Open on Saturday and put together some noteworthy performances. Noah Evers increased his national mark in the shot put and also set a personal best with a throw of 56' 6.75". He placed second in the event and currently sits in ninth place in Division II. Nick Ruvalcaba was able to hit a provisional mark and set a personal best in the pole vault clearing 15' 7.25". He placed third in the event and currently sits in 22nd place in Division II. Erin Dorn set the school record in the 800 meters as well as hitting a provisional time at 2:14.26. She placed second in the event and currently is 12th place in Division II.

Other top performances included Leialani Akalaonu finishing fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.18. Ella Baryo finished eighth in the mile with a time of 5:07.19. Annabelle Schafer crossed the line third in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.36. The women's 4x400 meter relay consisting of Erin Boettcher, Akalaonu, Mya Staczek, and Julia Tuuri finished second in the event with a time of 4:09.08. Deidre Lorton was victorious in the high jump with a height of 5' 3". Mackenzie Brigham was able to place second in the long jump with a distance of 17' 5.5". Lisa Wangler placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 41' 6". She also bettered that performance by finishing second in the weight throw (55' 7.75").

Brendan LaLonde finished third in the 60-meter dash in a time of 6.96 and was .04 seconds from winning the event. Corbin DeJonge competed in the 60-meter hurdles and finished in third with a time of 8.43. Bryce Albrecht finished sixth in the high jump with a height of 6' 4.25". Ethan Scholten finished fourth in the long jump with a distance of 21' 5.5".
