Preview: Panthers to Matchup Against Pride and Rangers

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich - The Davenport University women's volleyball team is set for another weekend of volleyball, traveling to Purdue Northwest on Friday (Nov. 3) at 8 p.m. before returning home to host Parkside on Saturday (Nov. 4) at 5 p.m. Saturdays match against the Rangers is the final home match of the regular season for the Panthers (11-14, 7-7 GLIAC) and will serve as the teams senior day.

Battle for Four 
As the final weeks of the regular season come to an end, all eyes shift to the GLIAC standings. The top four teams at the end of the season will have home-court advantage in the first round of the conference tournament. 

Currently, Davenport and Michigan Tech are tied for the No. 4 spot, with the Huskies holding the tiebreaker if neither team can break the tie.

Player Notes
Lindsay Taylor
  • Playing her best volleyball of the season of late as her production continues to go up as the season progresses.
  • Coming off the best match of her career, slamming a career-high 29 kills against GVSU (Oct. 31), ranking the fourth most in a single match in DU history.
  • Has recorded a double-double in six of the last seven matches.
  • 12 double-doubles this season.

Stephanie Kalinowski 
  • Leads the GLIAC in digs (463) and digs per set (4.87).
  • Earlier this season, she earned back-to-back-to-back GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
  • Has now tallied double-digit digs in 23 straight matches and all but one match in 2023. 
  • Ranks ninth all-time in career digs (1,085).

Nicole Odeen
  • Has a new career-high 658 assists in the 2023 season.
  • In all 25 matches this year, the Buffalo, Minn. native has notched double-digit assists.
  • Coming off back-to-back matches with at least 50 assists.

  • Handed No. 19 Ferris State its only conference loss of the season.
  • Their 16 wins mark the most since 2015 when they notched 19.
  • Most conference wins they have had in a season since joining the GLIAC ahead of the 2018 season.
