Four Panthers Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

COLLEGE SPORTS COMMUNICATORS – Abby Alan, Hayley Carr, Kaitlin Jordan and Julia Frederick of the Davenport University women's volleyball team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. 

To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a sophomore both academically and athletically. They must have competed in 90% of the institution's games/contests/sets played or must start in at least 66% of the games/contests/sets. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Graduate students must have a minimum of 3.50 for both their graduate program GPA and their undergraduate GPA.  

As a junior, Alan finished the year with a team-high 312 kills, pacing the Davenport offense. She finished averaging 3.22 kills per set with 25 service aces, 104 digs and 26 total blocks. To open the season against South Dakota Mines (Sept. 5), Alan had a monster performance, recording 20 kills, five service aces, seven digs and two blocks. In her best match of the season, Alan tied her career-high in kills with 22 against Michigan Tech (Nov. 7). She finished with double-digit kills in 16 matches as a junior. 

For Carr, she has now earned All-Conference nods in each of her first two seasons at DU. The Hudsonville, Mich. native posted career-highs in nearly every statistical category, finishing with 88 assists, 32 service aces, 450 digs, 4.46 digs per set and 33 points. She finished with double-digit digs in 26 out of 28 matches. Had a season-high 30 digs against Gannon (Sept. 13). Against Northern Michigan (Sept. 19), Carr had a career-high six service aces in three sets of action with 16 digs to lead the Panthers to a 3-0 victory. 

In her third and final season with Davenport, Jordan had her best statistical season across the board. She posted career-highs in kills (223), kills per set (2.21), hitting percentage (.251), service aces (25), digs (70) and total blocks (72). Against Roosevelt (Nov. 15), Jordan posted a career-high 16 kills in her final home game.  Her 72 blocks led the team, with the next closest being 48 (Amelia Werner). 

Frederick took a major leap in her sophomore year. She finished with career-highs in digs (287), digs per set (2.87), assists (16) and points (29). She eclipsed double-digit digs in 14 matches during her 2025 campaign. Against Parkside (Nov. 14), the Louisville, Ky. native notched a career-high 28 digs, to go along with four assists and a service ace.
