DETROIT, Mich. - The Davenport swimming and diving teams made the trip across the state of Michigan on Friday for a dual meet against Wayne State. The Warriors were able to win on both the women's and men's side. The women's score was 147-90, while the men's score was 135-103.
Highlighted moments of the dual included
Matthew Gauck hitting the NCAA three-meter diving cut with a score of 296.25 and finished in second place.
Ella Wagner also shined with three individual wins. Those wins came in the 200 IM (2:10.18), 200 back (2:09.41), and 200 breast (2:27.19).
Owen Stender also had a really good meet as he won the 200 breast (2:08.36) and was part of the 200 IM relay that finished second (1:33.74). The women's 200 free relay won the event with a time of 1:41.72. That relay consisted of
Julia Mizik,
Alicja Pinkowicz,
Asyia Shank, and
Mikayla Reimink.
Maciej Konarski competed in the 200 IM and won that event with a time of 1:55.48.
Micah Sholl won the 50 free with a time of 21.38. The men's 200 free relay won in a time of 1:26.02. That relay consisted of Sholl,
Jakub Karpinski,
David Szczygiel, and
Grant Sandstedt. The women's 200 medlay relay won with a time of 1:48.15. Reimink,
Mallory Brownrigg, Shank, and Mizik teamed up for that win.
