CINCINNATI, Ohio - A trio of Davenport University men's DII ice hockey players etched themselves into the scoresheet throughout opening weekend at the University of Cincinnati on Oct. 4-5. The two contests marked the third and fourth-ever games facing Cincinatti in program history as DU held a 2-0 record before last weekend.

Ian Milton and Ryan Long were the lone goal scorers in the first of two games last Friday (Oct. 4), leading the effort in the 7-2 loss to the Bearcats. The following day, Nathan Mastrony was the only Panther to tuck in a score as Cincinnati maintained its momentum from the previous contest and took a 10-1 victory. Devin DeCarlo saw his first minutes in goal for DU as the true freshman made a total of 84 saves on 101 total shot attempts by the opponent.

Looking to shake off the lossess, the Panthers will travel to Schoolcraft College on Friday, Oct. 11, and return to Grand Rapids on Saturday, Oct. 12 for the homeopener against the Ocelots for an 8:30 p.m. puck drop at Patterson Ice Center.
