PAINESVILLE, Ohio - Representing Davenport University in this year's honorees,
Easton Lopez was named to the 2024 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Men's Soccer All-Midwest Region First Team.
The midfielder adds to his already accoladed season as the first Panther named GLIAC Freshman of the Year and (now) the first true freshman to receive D2CCA First Team honors in program history. Lopez also received First Team All-GLIAC this year, leading DU in goals (six) and points (14). He was one of four GLIAC men's soccer players to be named to the 2024 D2CCA All-Midwest class among 26 total recipients.
"Sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences within the Midwest region selected the all-region teams. A total of 26 student-athletes representing 14 different institutions filled out the two teams. Those selected to the first team will now move onto consideration for the All-American voting," states the D2CCA press release.
"The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities."
