KENTWOOD, Mich. - A pair of West Michigan institutions gathered at Kentwood Aquatic Center for a swimming and diving dual on Saturday between Davenport and Grand Valley State. The Lakers won the men's and women's dual by scores of 243.5-56.5 for the guys and 257-43 for the ladies.
Robert Russo was able to achieve enough points in the one-meter dive (273.38) to make the NCAA Division II cut for nationals. Newcomer
Nadia Jastrzabek in her first meet at Davenport made quite a splash with a school record in the 50 free (23.41) and 100 free (50.76). In addition, she made the NCAA-B cut for nationals.Â
The women's 400 yard medley relay finished in a time of 3:50.80 consisting of
Alicja Pinkowicz,
Mallory Brownrigg,
Asyia Shank, and Jastrzabek. The men's 400 yard medley relay finished with a time of 3:20.85 consisting of
Marcel Setlak,
Owen Stender,
David Szczygiel and
Micah Sholl.
Eric Perczak finished second in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:51.44.
