GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport swimming and diving teams had a busy weekend as they traveled to Hope College for a tri-meet with Hope and Olivet College on Friday. Then, they returned home on Saturday to host Aquinas College and Hillsdale College at Kentwood Aquatic Center and honored their seniors competing in their final home competition. The two days were highlighted by two school records that fell. On Friday, the women's 200 medley relay consisting of
Alicja Pinkowicz,
Mallory Brownrigg,
Asyia Shank, and
Nadia Jastrzabek set a time of 1:43.15 to break the old record of 1:43.76 set last year. On Saturday, freshman
Matthew Gauck set the school record in the three-meter dive (six attempts) with a score of 308.40. The previous record was 271.15 by
Dylan Theisen in 2023.
Friday's Results
- The men's 200 medley relay finished second with a time of 1:34.63 (Eric Perczak, Micah Sholl, Jakub Karpinski, Julian Lazea)
- Karpinski finished third in the 100 back with a time of 54.62
- Jastrzabek won the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.17
- Mitch Dickey placed second in the 100 breast in a time of 58.10
- Pinkowicz claimed second place in the 200 fly with a time of 2:15
- Grant Sandstedt finished second in the 200 fly with a time of 2:00.14
- Ava Perez-Rapolevich finished second in the one-meter dive with a score of 218.60
- Robert Russo won the one-meter dive with a score of 261.20
Saturday's Results
- The women's 400 medley relay won the event with a time of 4:03.91 (Ella Wagner, Brownrigg, Shank, Julia Mizik)
- The men's 400 medley relay won the event with a time of 3:21.26 (Marcel Setlak, Maciej Konarski, David Szczygiel, Karpinski)
- Szczygiel won the 1,650 free with a time of 17:03.23 and the 200 fly with a time of 1:57.05
- Setlak won the 200 free with a time of 1:43.94.
- Dickey won the 50 free with a time of 21.73
- Wagner won the 400 IM in a time of 4:37.76
- Konarski won the 400 IM in a time of 4:05.94.
- Jastrzabek was victorious in the 100 free in a time of 52.90
- Alvaro Ruiz de Canas won the 100 free in a time of 47.62
