Panthers Finish First at Chicago State Windy City Invitational

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Davenport University men's golf team secured its first first-place finish of the fall season at the Chicago State Windy City Invitational at the Harborside International Golf Course. The squad shot a 917 (+53) with their best round coming in the first at 294 (+6).

Leading the way for the Panthers was Chen-Shiuan Wu, finishing fourth overall with a three-round score of 224 (+8). Wu tied a school record for low round in 18 holes, shooting a 66 (-6) in the first round, registering four birdies and an eagle in that round.

Placing seventh overall was Casey Patterson with a three-round score of 229 (+13). Through three rounds, the junior notched eight birdies and an eagle. His best round came on the final day, shooting a 74 (+2).

Cayden Kwan secured a 14th-place finish, shooting a 234 (+18) with seven birdies in the event. Justin Grimard came in at 22nd overall with a three-round score of 240 (+24) and a low round of 78 (+6).

Looking ahead, the Panthers will host the Davenport Panther Invitational at the Stoatin Brae Golf Club in Augusta, Mich.
