ALLENDALE, Mich. - The 2025-26 indoor track and field season got underway on Friday, Dec. 5 at the Grand Valley State Holiday Open. Davenport joined a strong field including teams from NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA schools at the Kelly Family Sports Center.
Ethan Scholten made the finals of the 60-meter dash by finishing sixth in the prelims with a time of 6.92. He would then race to a ninth-place finish in the finals at 6.99 seconds. Scholten also finished sixth in the long jump with a distance of 22' 7.25".
Mark Palmeter competed in the 400 meters and placed 18th with a time of 50.40. He also placed ninth in the long jump (21' 3.25") to set a new PR. The men's 4x400 meter relay finished in fifth place with a time of 3:21.25 and consisted of
Nikao Williams,
Malcolm Earvin,
Adam Jorgensen, and
Rease Teel.
Tariq Murray would finish 10th in the triple jump covering a distance of 41' 7.75" in his first meet as a Panther.
Arrionna Wallace would finish seventh in the prelims in the 60-meter dash (7.75) and was able to trim her time down to 7.72 in the finals and remain in seventh place. Her finals time was the second-best in the event at DU.
Julia Ott competed in the high jump and would bring home eighth place with a height of 5' 4.25" for a new PR.
Tess Carlson got her first crack in the pole vault and the freshman cleared 10' 8.75" for 10th place.
Bree Hardy finished 20th in the long jump with a mark of 16' 1".
