Box Score HOLLAND, Mich. - On Friday night, the Davenport men's tennis team took care of business in a 9-0 win over Hope College on their own courts. The Panthers have now won 10 straight matches against the Flying Dutchmen and this season improved to 4-0.
The match started off in doubles as the Panthers claimed victories in all three matchups.
Jan Stolin and
Daniel Calver took over at No. 1 doubles to the tune of 6-2 over Austin Becksvoort and Ned Curley for Hope.
Carlos Henriquez and
Jaden Bender were 6-2 winners at No. 2 doubles over Alec Maynard and Cooper Nugent.
Jose Brenes and
Rudiger Dusselberg for Davenport at No. 3 doubles won 6-4 against Paul Schneider and Elliot Dozeman.
The singles play saw all six matchups end in straight sets for DU. Stolin had no problems going 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 over Nugent. Calver occupied No. 2 singles and won 6-4, 6-1 over Curley.
Reuben Bakker at No. 3 singles claimed a 6-0, 6-1 win over Schneider. Bender at No. 4 won 6-3, 6-3 against Rylan Doden. Dusselberg at No.5 won 6-4, 6-2 against Becksvoort. Brenes wrapped it up at No. 6 with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Karsten Patel.
