Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The men's tennis team improved to 5-0 this season and picked up their sixth straight win over Northwood University in a 5-2 victory on Saturday at MVP SportsPlex. The Panthers were able to win two of three in doubles to earn that point. They would then win four of six singles to take the win over the Timberwolves out of the GMAC.
Daniel Calver and
Jan Stolin picked up a 6-3 win at one doubles over Max Wild and Finn Buschmaas for Northwood.
Reuben Bakker and
Simone Pacciolla at three doubles won 6-3 over Amaan Tezabwala and Juan Perez Garcia.
Stolin at one singles showed grit as he dropped the first set 7-5 against Wild. He then rallied for a 6-4, 6-4 finish to get a big point.
Jaden Bender at four singles needed three sets against Buschmaas but got the job done at 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6) for another crucial point.
Carlos Henriquez at five singles won 7-6, 3-6, 6-4 against Perez Garcia.
Rudiger Dusselberg at six singles needed just two sets for the 7-5, 6-3 victory over Tezabwala.
