Panthers Place Three in Top 10 at Flyer Spring Invite, Finish Second Overall

WHEATON, Ill. - The Davenport University men's golf team secured a second-place finish (out of 13 teams) at the Flyer Spring Invite on Monday and Tuesday at the Cantigny Golf Course. Foster Faber (T-3), Justin Grimard (T-5) and Casey Patterson (T-5) all secured top-10 finishes at the event.

For Faber, it marked his first top-five finish of his career and fourth top-ten finish. The junior finished with a two-round score of 148 (+4), registering four birdies through 36 holes of play. Faber had a low round of 72 on the first day.

Grimard was one stroke behind Faber (149), finishing round one with a score of 74 and round two with an 18-hole score of 75. Grimard finished the event with seven birdies, which was tied for the most among all individuals competing.

Patterson also recorded a score of 149, shooting 72 on day one and 77 on day two. The sophomore finished the event with five total birdies. It marks the second top-10 finish of his career.

Rounding things out for the Panthers was Aiden Deng and Pedro Russi. Deng finished tied for 25th overall, shooting 155 (+11), while Russi ended tied for 30th with a two-round score of 156 (+12).

The Panthers will head to Noblesville, Ind for the Ken Partridge Invitational from April 6-8 at the Purgatory Golf Club.
