G-MAC – Luke Fritz of the Davenport University men's lacrosse team has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) men's lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon. This marks the first time the squad has had an honoree, as the Panthers joined the conference ahead of the 2024-25 academic year.
The redshirt sophomore led DU to an impressive 17-16 victory over Walsh on Saturday (April 5). Fritz scored the game-winning goal with 24 seconds remaining to complete a comeback which featured a four-point deficit with four minutes remaining. The midfielder finished with a team-high five goals in the win.
Looking ahead, Fritz and the Panthers will return to the field on Saturday, April 12, taking on Davis and Elkins at noon at the DU Turf Field in Grand Rapids, MIch.
