Grimard Secures Second Consecutive Top-Five Finish, Ties Two School Records

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. - Justin Grimard of the Davenport University men's golf team finished third at the Ken Partridge Invitational this week (April 6-8) at the Purgatory Golf Club. It marks the second consecutive event that the sophomore has claimed a top-five finish, placing fifth at the Flyer Spring Invite (March 31 - April 1).

In the third round of the event, Grimard tied two school records in low-round for 18 holes (66) and 54 holes (211). Grimard had an impressive final day, shooting -6 (66) in round three with six birdies and an eagle in 18 holes. Through 54 holes of play, Grimard recorded 12 birdies and two eagles.

As a team, the Panthers finished 12th out of 20 teams with a three-round score of 888, which was 24 strokes above par.

Pedro Russi finished 26th overall for the Panthers, shooting four over par (220) through 54 holes. The freshman had a low round of 70 (-2) in the third and racked up nine birdies in three rounds.

Rounding things out for the Panthers were Casey Patterson (76th), Aiden Deng (91st) and Foster Faber (101).

The Panthers will now shift their focus to the GLIAC Championships, which are set to take place from April 18-20 in Battle Creek, Mich. at Bedford Valley Golf Course.
