KENTWOOD, Mich. – The Davenport men's and women's cross country teams will continue their 2025 season on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Diemer Classic, hosted by Calvin on the Gainey Cross Country Course. The first race is set for 9:30 a.m.
The Panthers opened the season two weeks ago at the Jeff Drenth Memorial in Shepherd, Mich., and now turn their attention to a deeper field at the Diemer Classic. The meet annually draws strong regional competition and serves as an early benchmark ahead of the conference schedule.
Head coach Scott Cook said the chance to race on the Gainey Course provides value beyond a single meet.
"We are looking forward to building off of what we've done so far this year off our race two weeks ago, just continuing to progress… it's also the site of the GLIAC Championship so we will get a preview for the course that way"Â
Along with the preview of the championship course, the Panthers will face a competitive field that will test both squads and help measure their progress as they move deeper into September.
