KENTWOOD, Mich. – The Panther's men and women's cross country teams turned in standout performances at the Diemer Classic on Saturday, Sept. 13, hosted by Calvin at the Gainey Athletic Complex. The meet served as a preview of the GLIAC Championship course, and both squads rose to the challenge.

The Panther men stole the show, placing five runners inside the top 10 while capturing the individual title. Junior Jordan Domany dominated the field, winning the 8K in 25:15.3. He was followed by Tyler Guggemos (5th, 25:46.8), Rogan Melling (6th, 25:50.6), Luke Oyster (8th, 26:04.0), and Lucas Van Meter (9th, 26:05.4), giving Davenport unmatched front-end depth. Nik Shilling added a 24th-place finish (26:56.6), while Matt Nowak placed 37th (27:38.3) to round out a strong team showing.

On the women's side, sophomore Alyssa Butterfield led the way with a 22nd-place finish in 20:05.0. She was followed by Cierra Guay (35th, 21:31.7), Lacy Hess (41st, 22:25.8), Adrianna Soria (42nd, 22:25.8), and Adeline Nickels (50th, 22:28.1), with several Panthers recording improvements from their season opener.

Head Coach Scott Cook praised the effort on both sides, saying:
"I was really proud of our group and how they competed today. Both men and women made some big improvements from two weeks ago."
