Grimard Crowned Champion at Motor City Shakedown

DEARBORN, Mich. - Justin Grimard of the Davenport University men's golf team secured a first-place finish at the Motor City Shakedown at TPC Michigan on Tuesday (Sept. 30). It marks the first top-place finish of the juniors intercollegiate career. He finished with a three-round score of 218 (+2), registering 10 birdies in two days of action.

As a team, the Panthers finished second out of five teams competing, shooting 20 over par (884). DU led after the first two rounds, but Wayne State made a comeback on the final day to win the tournament.

Chen-Shiuan Wu and Cayden Kwan also notched top-10 finishes. Wu placed tied for fifth overall, shooting 224 (+8) through three rounds, notching nine birdies and an eagle. Kwan tied for seventh overall, registering a 226 (+10) with a low round of 68 (-4) in the opening round.

Finishing 20th overall was Casey Patterson, notching four birdies while shooting 234 (+18).
