CALEDONIA, Mich. – After splitting last weekend's trip to the Upper Peninsula with a 3-1 win over Michigan Tech and a 4-0 loss to Northern Michigan, Davenport will hit the road once more before beginning a home stretch, traveling to Hammond, Ind. to face Purdue Northwest on Friday, Oct. 3.
Several Panthers continue to make an impact offensively. Freshman Josie Wilcox leads the team in shots (11) and shares the team lead in assists (two) with Ella Chatfield, both of Wilcox's assists coming in an impressive showing against Michigan Tech. Sofia Capoccia leads DU in goals (four) and is tied with Chatfield for the team lead in points (four).
In net, Elizabeth Wolter made her 2025 season debut against Michigan Tech, facing 34 shots with eight saves and five goals allowed. Bailey Gauthier leads the team with a 1.66 goals-against average, stopping 20 of 64 shots faced this season.
Purdue Northwest Matchup
The Pride's last meeting with Davenport came on Nov. 1, 2024, when DU claimed a 1-0 victory. Since 2017, the Panthers hold a 10-1-2 record against PNW.
Currently sitting one spot above Davenport in the GLIAC standings, PNW carries a 1-2 conference record and a 3-2-2 overall mark. In GLIAC play, the Pride opened with a 1-0 loss to Ferris State, followed by a 1-0 win over Roosevelt, and most recently a 2-1 loss to Parkside.
Offensively, sophomore forward Mia Davis leads the team in shots (17) and shots on goal (nine), while also pacing the Pride with a team-high eight points on four goals. In goal, Poppy Jackson has logged the most minutes, allowing just five goals while facing 62 shots and making 22 saves.
The Panthers and Pride will kick off at 1 PM this Friday at Dowling Park.
