MONROE, Mich. - The Davenport men's bowling team captured the AHBA Championship over the weekend and head coach
Bryan Eaton earned Coach of the Year honors. The varsity and junior varsity portion of the competition was claimed by Davenport.
Charlie Johnson was named to the All-Tournament Team on the varsity side, while
Adam Coval and Alexander Uranga earned the same award on the junior varsity team.
The Monroe Sports Center was the venue for the championships. The Panthers had 6,012 pinfall in the varsity standings and beat second-place Cleary who had 5,857. Johnson finished fifth in the individual standings with an average of 217.3 in three games. He scored a 213, 219, and 220 as a model of consistency.
Camden Caswell cracked the top 10 in eighth place with an average of 214.7. He opened with a 194 and rebounded with a 254 before finishing at 196.Â
Coval and Uranga placed No. 1 and No. 2 in the junior varsity. Coval averaged 226.3 with games of 211, 237, and 231. Uranga averaged 207 in his three games with scores of 190, 225, and 206.
Jaxon Ward also finished in sixth place for the Panthers with an average of 192.3.
