CHICAGO, Ill. – The Davenport men's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on the road, sweeping Roosevelt 7-0 on March 20 at XS Tennis Center. The Panthers controlled the match from the outset, securing all three doubles points to take early momentum and never looking back. The pairing of
Adrian Constantin and
Rudiger Dusselberg set the tone with a commanding 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while
Jaden Bender and
Daniel Calver battled to a 7-6 (7-2) victory in the No. 2 spot.
Reuben Bakker and
Jan Stolin completed the sweep with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
Davenport continued its strong play into singles competition, winning all six matches in straight or deciding sets. Stolin highlighted the effort at No. 1 singles with a 7-6, 6-0 victory, while Constantin followed with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2. Calver secured the No. 3 position in straight sets, and Bender earned a hard-fought, three-set win at No. 4 (5-7, 6-4, 10-8). Dusselberg and Bakker rounded out the lineup with convincing straight-set victories at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
With the sweep, Davenport improves to 8-10 overall and evens its GLIAC record at 1-1, while Roosevelt falls to 5-9 and 0-1 in conference play. The Panthers' complete performance across both doubles and singles showcased depth and consistency, marking one of their most decisive wins of the season as they continue conference competition on Friday, Mar. 27 versus Ferris State, scheduled for 11:00 AM at Grand Rapids Racquet Club.
