WAUKEGAN, Ill. - USA Ultimate DIII Nationals was held from May 16-18 and the Panthers took fifth place for the second straight year. On Saturday, DU came out strong in pool play and had two easy wins against Mount Holyoke (15-5) and Colorado College (14-3). In the third and final game of the day against Macalester, Davenport was down 8-4 at halftime. However, the Panthers never gave up and came back to win the game 14-13 on universe point.
Going 3-0 on Saturday put DU directly into the quarterfinals on Sunday, where they faced Haverford Bryn-Mawr. It was a very exciting game of runs, with both teams taking the momentum and scoring several points in a row. HBM took the halftime lead, 8-7, but the Panthers came out hot out of halftime and went on a 5-0 run. Unfortunately, HBM was able to mount a comeback to win 13-12 on universe point.
Monday was the 5th-place game vs Carleton, and DU played incredibly well in the wind to win 14-3.
Overall, it was a very successful weekend for the team, which is only in its third year as a program. We can't wait to start back up again in Fall 2026 and continue to build!
