ABCA - The Davenport baseball team has been recognized for its commitment to excellence in the classroom, earning the 2025-26 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack.

Led by head coach Kevin Tidey, the Panthers posted a 3.37 team GPA during the 2026 winter semester, helping the program earn national recognition from the ABCA. The award honors member high school and college baseball programs that achieve a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the academic year.

More than 800 high school and collegiate programs across the country were recognized this year, including nearly 500 college programs.

Following the spring semester, ABCA member coaches were invited to nominate their teams for the annual award. To be eligible, programs were required to have a current ABCA member serving as head coach and post a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.

The honor recognizes the Panthers' dedication to success both in the classroom and on the diamond, continuing Davenport's tradition of academic excellence.
